Assassins Creed 3 – What is Fight Island?

Ubisoft has released another video documenting their road to E3, this time we get to see the development team behind Assassin’s Creed 3 prepare for their demo. However, what’s most interesting about the two and a half minute video, is the small glimpse of a banner we get to see half way through the footage.

As with the previous E3 hype video, we get to meet several members of the staff, though they don’t mention anything we don’t already know at this point. Yet at the 1:06 mark, we get to see a small sign with the title “Fight Island”, as one of the game’s developers speaks about the new animations they have created for the combat system.

For now we can only assume, but since multiplayer has already been confirmed anyway, we wonder if there might be some sort of competitive component focused more on battles (a theme, which plays a role in the game anyway) instead of silent assassinations.

Will have to wait until E3 to see what sorts of online assassin action is waiting for us.

Update: N4G user dex3108 has possibly found the solution to this riddle. In a piece about Ubisoft Montreal one of the development groups is named “Hollywood Team” leaving him to believe that Fight Island is simply the section dedicated to combat. This would make sense in a production team that is as huge as the one behind Assassin’s Creed 3.
