Road Rash to get Kickstarter help
Road Rash was one of our favourite Mega Drive games. The series has never been able to top its dizzying heights of the 16 bit era and after several failed attempts at a reboot, hopes for a new Road Rash game faded into the abyss.
Road Rash’s co-creator Dan Geisler has taken things into his own hands by announcing that he plans to start a Kickstarter fund for the racer:
“It hasn’t resurfaced because I was burned out after Road Rash 3. But I’m ready to do another one now. I just needed 20 years off. I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too. If there is enough interest, Ill do a kickstart on it. btw thanks for the post. Dan Geisler, programmer/co-designer Road Rash 1 2 and 3.”
EA still hold the rights to Road Rash, so any game made would be unofficial. Of course EA could sneakily release their own game for the series; back in October Criterion said that they “might make a Road Rash game….”
