SEGA have announced that their latest brawler Anarchy Reigns will not be released in North American and European regions until next year.

Platinum Games’ latest title was originally due to come out in the Summer, but SEGA recently changed this to TBA saying they were making sure it was “finished, localized, and ready to go”.

The delay was announced via where they responded to one fan saying:

“The release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 of 2013.”

SEGA’s move surprised some of the people at Platinum Games too.

“Today’s Q1 2013 release news was the first we’d heard of it. Even if we wanted to, we can’t comment as we’re (still) in the dark officially,” . He then released this statement:

“First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns. The delay is not due to further development on the game. There’s some concern that this will push back the Japanese release date. It will not. The game will be released in Japan on July 5, 2012.

“Finally, I want to sincerely apologize to all the fans worldwide for all the confusion this situation has caused.” he continued, “Even though we are the game’s developers, we can only do so much about this…

“However, we hope you can continue to support Anarchy Reigns and look forward to playing it with us in the future. Thank you.”

Anarchy Reigns will still be available for Japanese players on July 5. Early reports suggest that the game will be region free and will have English, French, Italian and Spanish languages.
