Platinum Games has released some new footage of additional gametypes, which coming to their new brawler, Anarchy Reigns, while subtly showing off some interesting takes on classic game mechanics.
In the video we are shown clips from a 4v4 Team Battle, a 2v2 Tag Battle and a 2v2v2v2 Tag Battle, although it must be said that there’s not much of a “tag” element, from what we can see in the trailer. On top of that, players can expect Platinum’s take on Horde Mode, where users must cooperate in teams of 3 taking down trash mobs and what’s looking to be some pretty grand scaled boss fight.
In between the awe inspiring brawls we are also shown some new environmental weapons, but what stood out the most was how Anarchy Reigns deals with respawning. Due to the Japanese barrier this cannot be said for sure and it is possibly something which is supposed to aid in team battles, but it appears that instead of randomly spawning, players take control of a floating orb before reentering the match (see the 0:51 mark).
Platinum Games has been very frequent with their releases of new characters and trailers for the game, making us all the more excited. As flashy as the game looks however, this is a title players will have to experience first hand to judge properly, in my opinion.
