After leaving their account untouched for over two years, the developers behind the Half-Life Source reboot, Black Mesa have resurfaced.
Announcing their new earlier today, the Black Mesa Devs have are back on the grid. While they can’t say much more about the mod than the fact that it’ll be released “when it’s done”, fans seem are excited to hear from this project after it’s from over three years ago.
“Black Mesa is a re-imagining of Half-Life, the game by Valve Software that changed the industry over a decade ago,” as the official description on their facebook page reads. “Utilizing the modern Source engine and its powerful visual and design features, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman, the gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.”
When the game is finally completed it will be completely free and only require a game that runs on the source engine, considering Team Fortress 2 does so and is free-to-play, anyone will be able to snag this mod if it gets a green light by Valve.
It already has the green light from Valve.
These guys should do us all a favour and not bother making this game!
by the time this game is done, it would probably be 2017 and who would care by then?
just save your time, and do it for something else and worth while.
Look at your useless comment and think again.
They are making it because they want to, not because some immature kids may or may not play it
I fully understand why it takes so long. I work for 7 years on a project where I normally had to provide 2 years. I also like the principle of doing well or not doing it, and that is what the programmers want to. Patience people patience. I also think that this half-life will continue and intensify by a factor of 100 to the best game of all time. My best wishes to the team.
