It has been rumoured for ages now that Rockstar’s latest iteration in the Grand Theft Auto series is in devlopment. Today the developers confirmed the rumours from last month that stated the game was “well under way”.

There still is no news on where the game is set, but if the only official image is anything to go by, we’d have to say San Andreas is the biggest bet. The font and the green of the logo have a feel closer to San Andreas like any other GTA title. Saying this, the V could stand for Vice City. Of course returning to one of these cities may be a bit odd with the more ‘realistic’ take on GTA that came with Niko Bellic’s outing.

Oddly enough if the next GTA is in one of the series’ spin off locations, it will be the first numbered GTA sequel to do so. Following the formula set by the franchise so far, GTA V should be in Libery City.

Rockstar have always been seecretive though, so we wouldn’t be suprised if the title gets a completely new game when the trailer for GTA V released on November the 2nd. Whatever it is, we can’t wait!
