Code of Princess and its outrageous cast

Code of Princess, is a new title coming to the 3DS featuring one of the most scandalously dressed main characters I’ve seen in a while.

Illustrator Kinu Nishimura, famous for her work at Capcom on titles such as Street Fighter or MvC3, will be releasing the side-scroller beat’em up game together with Agashima Entertainment for the Nintendo handheld and is planned to support up to 4 players in PvP modes as well as the main quests.

There have been character reveals so far-ranging from a magnified sphinx cat to the game’s protagonist, Solange, who appears to be wearing the least amount of armour in any action game so far.

Gameplay videos from February show off the likenesses of the cape, scarf and panties wearing, zombie magician next to the pirate princess (I wish I could make this stuff up). One of the newer released features some of the male characters amongst which one of them looks like a floating kunai wielding Zant. In the latest we also get to have a look at what seems to be multiplayer gameplay.

At the moment the game is only planned for a Japan release on April 14 this year. We haven’t been seeing too many beat’em ups lately, especially with such a twisted cast. With Xenoblade and The Last Story receiving a US release, japan ports of titles such as Code of Princess don’t seem as unlikely as they used to be, though the success of current ports will determine the future of publishers picking up foreign IPs.
