Draw Something is set to launch an update that will put adverts into the game.

In case you have been living under a rock, Draw Something is a social gaming app that asks users to draw specific words for their friends. Imagine a 21st century version of Pictionary using touch devices and you will get the idea.

An article on Adage was the first to break the news, claiming that users would now be prompted to draw brands and logos that would be paid for by advertisers. This move by Zynga is most likely due to the dwindling sales figures of the app, which has .

“Draw Something is inserting advertisers’ paid terms into the game for players to literally draw brands,” The Adage explains. “Here’s how the game works: Pick a word from a list of three, then create a drawing so a Facebook friend can guess that word and you can win points. For the ad product, imagine inserting words like ‘Doritos’ or ‘Coca-Cola’ in among ‘golfer,’ ‘bikini’ or ‘fireworks’.”
