Halo franchise Development Director Frank O’Connor from 343 Industries has been posting some updates about Halo 4′s graphical system, perks and music on NeoGAF.
When asked about the engine in use O’Connor claimed, “Almost every single system, audio, rendering, lighting, you name it, has been either radically overhauled or rewritten from the ground up. At this point saying it’s based on a previous version of the engine basically speaks to a few pieces of code.”
In an attempt to calm fans about Halo 4′s multiplayer component, the development director explained that the “classic Halo is still there“. While perks in a typical sense aren’t present, future updates are supposed to clarify 343′s plan to to alter the multiplayer experience in an attempt to “calm frayed nerves”.
An issue many player’s have been concerned about is the addition of a new composer for the upcoming Halo titles, due to the relevance in ambience the classic scores gave to the games. Although an exact name can’t be revealed at this point in time, O’Connor ensure that unveiling the new composer will be a “big reveal“.
Sounds like recent updates have only been the beginning in a slew of Halo 4 media, look forward to some closer looks and further coverage in the upcoming days.
