After being teased with multiplayer tidbits, we finally got our first look at what God of War: Ascenion‘s campaign will look like at Sony’s E3 press conference.
Right off the bat our Kratos’ new build becomes immediately apparent. His body is less bulked and his chains are still freshly wrapped around his flesh.
Although his gear is still quite spare, our hero appears to have already acquired an artefact similar to the Amulet of the Fates from God of War 2, which allows the player to manipulate time for puzzle solving. Further items, the antihero is missing, are the epic weapons. It seems as if basic spears and swords will be utilised this time around to flesh out the arsenal, as we’re still looking at the beginning of the great Spartan’s journey.
Throughout the demo there are a few familiar faces but the highlights are most likely the Minoelephant and the giant Kraken, which Kratos decides to take dispose of in a familiar fashion we’ve seen today.
God of War: Ascension will be released on March 13, 2013.
