Although the Diablo III servers have finally begun to run somewhat smoothly since their horrendous launch, Blizzard appears to still be in quite some trouble, because of these issues, weeks later.
After players had filed a massive amount of complaints to Korea’s Fair Trade Commission, Blizzard’s offices in Seoul were raided. Supposedly the company doesn’t allow for refunds, however the FTC believes that Blizzard didn’t properly prepare themselves for the widespread release of their highly anticipated dungeon crawler, making their no-return policy a possible violation of Korea’s laws on electronic commerce and commercial contracts.
The FTC stated in an interview that they had received nearly 200 complaints every day since Diablo III’s launch, giving them enough reason to open an investigation. According to the Korean Times, Blizzard has doubled the amount of their servers to avoid further complications, though the issue appears to still not be resolved.
If Blizzard is in fact in violation of Korean law, players would be able to receive a full refund in the end.
