After fighting for votes since December 18 of last year, building blocks enthusiast Mingles has finally received 10,000 supporters to make his Lego Legend of Zelda collection come true.
Mingles claims to have thought of the idea since the first Zelda game was released over 25 years ago. He explains, “With the infinite possibilities of what can be achieved with LEGO and the immersion created by the fantasy world of The Legend of Zelda, many fans have endeavoured making their own LEGO Zelda customs and creations.”
In 2011 the Zelda fan dedicated his time to design various 3D models, scaling the items from the original pieces found in the games. Although Mingles did not have the resources to make the actual blocks and figures, he claims that this is something he and many other fans wanted to see come true.
Now that the has received 10,000 supporters, we can look forward to see this idea come to life. Let’s just hope we won’t be seeing “Lego Zelda the Game”… Check out the images below for more items from the collection.
“The LEGO scaled items I designed above are only a small portion of what could be in theory achieved with official Legend of Zelda LEGO. Along with an official inventory of items, swords, hats and shields would be an immense quantity of locations and scenarios which could be played out in sets.”
“The set shown below is of the finale of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This is one of the most iconic moments of the game, featuring all main 3 characters in adult form. The organ is heard throughout the ascent of Ganon’s Castle and plays an important role in building the suspension as Link climbs the endless stairs to aid in Princess Zelda’s rescue.”
“Along with a set representing an iconic moment of the series, I feel it is also necessary to include multiple swords, shields and items as they play such a large and important role in the series.”
