Metal Gear Online Goes Offline Tomorrow

Metal Gear Online

The multiplayer title Metal Gear Online will go offline for good tomorrow after four years of tactical espionage action.

Konami made the decision to shut off the Metal Gear Online servers back in February. The title reached the pinnacle of its success back in March 2009 when it surpassed 1.3 million members.

The game was originally made available to fans of the series through Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. A stand-alone version of the game was also available in Japan.

Regarding the imminent closure, Konami said in February:

“We have regretfully come to a point where players have experienced all that this iteration of Metal Gear Online is able to offer.”

Metal Gear Online will officially go offline at 23:59 in Japan – 10:59 for those on the East Coast of America. Hop online for a final chance to wish it a fond farewell.
