Microsoft Points to be scrapped

Microsoft Points

After November and the inception of the Xbox Live system, it would not be surprising if Microsoft were considering ending the virtual currency they currently run worldwide.

The rumour has stemmed from a report from a specialist mobile site but Microsoft have refused to make any comments on the subject. Also a development company particularly tied to Microsoft was questioned and they said they were not aware that any changes would be taking place.

At the moment Xbox Live users can use Microsoft Points to purchase games and people who own a Microsoft phone can purchase music and videos with them. If the system was to be abolished Xbox Live users would only be able to purchase games using money.

However, this is all speculation and its reliability will hopefully be proved by the end of the year.
