Shigeru Miyamoto kicked off Nintendo’s E3 conference by introducing Pikmin 3 for the Wii U.
It has been two years since we have seen the adorable little creatures and they are now looking a lot crisper with an enhanced resolution. Pikmin 3 was described by Miyamoto as a “real-time action management game.”
New Rock Pikmin were introduced and can now been used to break down special barriers. They are also spotted destroying shields on the back of enemies.
According to Miyamoto Wii U controller will give the definitive Pikmin 3 game. Players will be able to view the map and quickly assign tasks to individual Pikmin.
The game will also allow for four leaders to play at once, although series hero Captain Olimar is not one of these characters for storyline reasons that are yet to be revealed. This creates an even deeper strategic aspect to Pikmin 3 as you switch between each leader commanding their Pikmin.
