Ninja Gaiden 3 to be more “realistic”

In a new  for Ninja Gaiden 3, the game’s Character Lead Artist, Masahiro Nose, Art Director, Kenichiro Nakajo, and Movie Lead, Yoshinori Kobayashi, explain how they plan to alter the series elements for a deeper story experience.

With the game’s protagonist facing a human defence force this time around instead of monsters and beasts, the developers tried to make Ryu more realistic in his behaviour and design. To do so, Ryu’s physique has been altered by adding more muscles, so that his appearance matched the heavier new feel of movement the game presents.

Furthermore many of the fantasy elements have been removed, so that the game could focus more on the human drama and dark tone of the storyline. In comparison to previous instalments, he will not be a lone warrior, but have a series of characters he will interact with. For this to seem more natural, many scenes have been acted out.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is planned for a March 20 release in North America and March 23 in Europe for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The Wii U will be seeing a release as well, sometime further down the line.
