Initial footage of the single player mode in Resistance: Burning Skies looks promising. If the game is always like the 15 minute video below then we have got a top-selling Vita game on our hands.
The game makes good use of the handhelds different capabilities, using the multi-touch pad you can sprint, the touch screen can be used for melee and to lock on to enemies. Best of all,we finally seem to be getting a decent handheld FPS that uses dual thumbsticks.
Resistance: Burning Skies has added the use of cover. You will now automatically raise your gun when behind cover. The rep in the video promised that “cover is really important to doing well in the game.”
Nihilistic may have taken over the development from Insomniac, but they have clearly learned a thing or two from them about making cool weapons. The footage shows off some of the game’s new weapons. Easily our favourite is the “shotgun which has the added ability of a molotov cocktail.”
We are quite impressed by how this game is looking. It seems the old Resistance franchise has some life left in it.
