It seems that Respawn Entertainment’s newest game is in fact not space shooter as was heavily rumoured. The company released a news article via their blog that discusses how they recorded the sounds of guns in the game. If you take at the pictures below you will clearly see that there are no death rays, vaporizers or any kind of future tech. They do have a couple of shotguns, snipers and automatic rifles though.
Respawn Entertainment is made up of Jason West, Vince Zampella, the duo responsible for the development of the Call of Duty while at Infinity Ward. West and Zampella left the company abruptly among several accusations from Activision that led them to storm their headquarters. The pair then set up Respawn Entertainment under EA.
We are not sure what Respawn are up to, but we don’t think it is necessarily a warfare game. The market is already saturated and EA have both the Battlefield and Medal of Honour series churning out regular games.
So by that logic, Halo is not a sci fi fps? I mean they spent a lot of time doing sound recordings of real world weapons also.
a scifi game can use real weapon sounds and mix em up take killzone 2 and 3 for example or bulletstorm, fallout, etc. just cause they are using real guns doesnt mean they arent making a scifi shooter
