Shenmue’s creator Yu Suzuki has said that he would consider creating a sequel to his masterpiece which was released on the Dreamcast. Shenmue was an extremely ambitious game that was meant to tell a story spanning over ten games. Due to the production costs and the Dreamcast’s demise Shenmue only managed to have two games released in the series.

“Shenmue’s license is an IP that belongs to SEGA,” creator Yu Suzuki said. He continued saying, “We can obtain the license from SEGA.”

“This is the person who has trained with Iwao [Hazuki] in the olden days in China. Then, in the story that will take place after Shenmue II, he will become a ‘key’ character,” he said.
