Gamers have been waiting for a sequel in the critically acclaimed Shenmue series for quite some time now, however it is exactly this struggle which has lead to a surprising lockdown at SEGA.
According to anonymous sources at GamerZines, the original Shenmue games have been revamped as HD versions for “well over a year”. Why these haven’t been released yet is simply the question, if Shenmue will ever be brought back for a third instalment.
With this story hitting the internet, SEGA will hopefully be moving forward in the HD ports’ releases, this could at least show them if development on Shenmue III might be sensible. If anything this could definitely be a successful Kickstarter campaign if done right.
