ShopTo drop GAME reward card offer

ShopTo have stopped their GAME reward card offer. The promotion gave those who owned a points card a £3 discount on their first purchase with the online retailer.

Since going into administration GAME will no longer be accepting vouchers or store card points on transactions. Times are hard for these stores and yesterday several hundred were shut.

The advert was pushed on ShopTo’s website and this isn’t the only time they have tried to make the best of GAME’s demise either. Two weeks ago ShopTo sent out an email, backed by Capcom, telling shoppers to buy Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City from them as GAME would not be stocking it.

“As a specialist games retailer we wanted to offer those GAME customers some value for their card,” ShopTo boss Igor Cipolletta told Eurogamer.

“We have withdrawn this promotion immediately as some customers have suggested the promotion was in bad taste, which was never our intention.”
