Square Enix have given us a glimpse of their new action game, Sleeping Dogs, by showcasing one of the game’s missions, “Mrs. Chu’s Revenge”.

The video starts with protagonist Wei tracking down his target by using a police device. After finding his target’s location he then sets out to dispatch his enemies with some slick kung-fu moves. The gang then up the firepower, bringing out some guns and starting a firefight along the dockyard. His target then attempts to get away in a high-speed vehicle and Wei gives chase on his motorbike using a bullet-time system to shoot out enemy car tires. To top it off Wei leaps off his motorbike and into his target’s car. Brilliant.

We like what we have seen (and played) of Sleeping Dogs. The game has some brilliant ideas. We really like the use of the environment during melee combat and we hope that Square Enix have made sure there is enough content here to keep these finishers fresh.

Sleeping Dogs will be out from August 14th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
