Star Wars: The Old Republic Release Causing Trouble for EA

Last night, an analyst’s analysis was released that suggested that there was already between 1 million and 1.5 million people lining up to get on servers for the Star Wars MMORPG: The Old Republic. EA’s newest game for PC gamers saw millions of pre-orders and today the game was released to 140 servers. Even before the game was released, the same analyst discovered the high demand for the MMORPG and the strain it was putting on the servers.

The game was announced 3 years ago and from then until now Star Wars: The Old Republic is pushing for the title most expensive game ever developed. Don’t worry though, Star Wars fans, I don’t mean in shelf price but in development costs, which totalled over £85 million.
The game is a prequel to the Star Wars films by approximately 3,500 years but is a sequel to the previous game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic which was released by BioWare in 2003.

If you have purchased the game, let us know how you’re finding it.
