Fumito Ueda still involved with The Last Guardian since leaving Sony

Developer Fumito Ueda has reassured fans that despite leaving Sony last year, he is still very much active in the creation of The Last Guardian.

During a brief chat with games publication Kotaku, Ueda confirmed that his involvement in the spiritual successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus was as real as ever.

“It’s been business as usual. The only things that’ve really changed are the terms of my contract,” Ueda said.

When asked by Kotaku about the state of the game, Ueda cryptically responded, ”I can’t really comment on the details.”

Scott Rohde, Sony’s president of Worldwide Studios, recently stated that the game will not ship until it is ‘absolutely ready’, following questions concerning its absence at this year’s E3 conference.

When we might actually see The Last Guardian again remains anyone’s guess.
