Thief 4 Talk with Eidos Montreal

The Official Xbox Magazine has released an excerpt from an interview they had with Eidos Montreal Boss Stephane D’Astous, in which he touched on Thief 4.

D’Astous explains that their previous title, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, plays a big part in how they plan to approach new projects:

“The success of Deus Ex put two things in perspective for us. Our second game needs to be as good or better than Deus Ex, and it gave a lot of credibility to the studio. Putting a successful game under your belt brings more confidence and credibility, and less red tape. We don’t want to be seen as a one trick pony.”

The new Thief will supposedly feature some sort of online mode and focus on more than just stealth this time. Similar to the new Deus Ex players will be given more options to approach objectives, as the head of Eidos Montreal elaborates:

“In Deus Ex, we really wanted to give different options in how to play, and we will want to bring a certain level of that to Thief. I think if people spend $60 on a game, they want more than corridor shoot shoot, corridor shoot shot. People are asking for a little more, so give them the choice of how they want to play.”

We can expect more details with the release of the full article in issue 87 of OXM on Wednesday.
