THQ have been spotted trademarking the name ’1666′. The application was sent off on the 22nd of February for ”video game software”.

The year 1666 is best known for The Great Fire of London, which devastated the thriving city. The year was also feared by many due to the numbers ’666′ appearing. At the time, several people felt that this year was cursed. During this time the Great Plague of London was crippling residents of the capital city.

We don’t know what THQ’s new game is, but if it is based on any of the incidents in London that year then it wont be a pretty sight.
