Like so many other announcements nowadays, this one was poorly guarded with rumours and news about the collection coming out earlier this year. Capcom have gone and officially announced the HD re-mastering of thier daemon-slaying, 3rd person action series, Devil May Cry. The game has already got its European launch date down as the 10th of February with Capcom promising, “a wealth of new [bonus] content for fans and newcomers alike”, alongside achievement and trophy support.

iPhone 4S breaks sales records:
Apple must be rolling around in money at the moment, because despite backlash from consumers with the lack of an iPhone 5 announcement, the iPhone 4S has gone on to be the most successful mobile phone launch ever. Over four million units have been sold within three days of the Apple product becoming available and it is not even available everywhere in the world yet! Currently the smartphone is only available in the US, Japan, Germany, France, Canada, Australia and the UK.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend – the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing.
“iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”
EA Games backs casual gaming:
Casual gaming often gets a lot of slack from us hardcore gamers. The industry has been shook up by the new force of casual gaming, with many people criticising companies for focusing on making a quick buck instead of the low development costs, instead of focusing on traditional games. EA recently aquired PopCap games who created popular flash games such as Peggle.
Defending the takeover Peter Moore said, “We acquired them because we see the future of gaming. We love Need For Speed The Run, we love Battlefield 3, but there’s also a time to play Plants vs Zombies and Bejewelled.”
We could not agree with him more, as much as I love my games there is a market out there that is bringing in a new audience and sometimes we prefer playing something a little easier. Plus, what else would you be playing on your computer sneakily at work?
Dark Souls completed in 90 minutes:
I never thought in all my time writing that I’d ever have this title for a news story. I am currently completing Dark Souls and the game is as tough as nails with some of the hardest enemies I have ever faced. That hasn’t stopped one crazy man from doing a speedrun through the whole game in under 90 minutes! As much as I want to watch the video below, I really don’t want to ruin the game. If you want to see what true skill, dedication and too much free time amounts to when playing games, check out the video below.
