Ubisoft had announced a while ago that they had planned to deliver more than just a mere shooter with Far Cry 3, looking at their latest gameplay reveal, they err… certainly have.

Update: Sony’s press conference unveiled the inclusion of 4 player coop. While it doesn’t bring anything new, it’s still a welcomed addition.

Opening with a first person drug induced sex scene between the protagonist Jason and Vaas’ sister, the demo doesn’t pull any punches as we soon get to follow the lead character as he sets out to take down the manic killer.

What comes as a surprise, in contrast to the previous instalment, is that the game appears to take on a more over the top action approach with vibrant colours, gruesome take downs and grenades that blow up like napalm.

The game will supposedly feature multiple islands open for exploration and hallucinations will play an immense rolls as well (as the demo clearly highlights). We look forward to see how the game will play.
