Update: XboxSupport has since replied, claiming “We have no info on that. Our tweet was mistaken. ^LB” If this is actually true or just a cover up is unclear, the assumption by the Examiner leaves us wondering nonetheless.

One of the Xbox Support Twitter accounts seems to have leisurely leaked that Grand Theft Auto V is coming this year.

Before anybody goes on to assume this is not coming from the official XboxSupport account, it’s important to note that on the official account XboxSupport1 through 12 are listed as part of the support team. P

revious speculations have left us to believe that BioShock Infinite‘s delay hinted at a holiday release for GTA V and it appears as if there might be something to it. Earlier today XbuxSupport1 , “The next title, Grand Theft Auto 5, will be out later this year ^BB”

Seeing this is coming from an official account there might be something to it, especially when one considers the potential the Grand Theft Auto series has to compete against some of the November 2012 releases. According the Examiner, Take Two’s projections for their fiscal year of 2013 suggest a return to San Andreas before March 2013 as well.
