After being first unveiled at yesterday’s Ubisoft conference, the Wii U exclusive, ZombiU, has received a new trailer, showing us some of the game’s gimmicks.
Looking at the surface, the game doesn’t appear to feature anything drastically different from what is already offered in current zombie shooters, though during Nintendo’s conference we got our first glimpse at how the tablet is planned to enhance gameplay.
The controller offers players some enhancements in order to stay more alert in the fight against the undead, such as a sonar map and a scanner, as well as the ability to perform other actions to make simple tasks like keypad inputs, scoped aiming or QTEs more immersive.
What is most intriguing about the concept of this Wii U title, is something that wasn’t shown in the trailer, but subtly mentioned on stage. One bite by the infected will supposedly end the game. Since we’re talking Nintendo however, this concept will probably be some sort of extreme difficulty mode.
Seeing how E3 announcements like this were in the past, we’re looking at you Red Steal, it’s probably to wait for more, before getting excited.
