Kojima’s Fox Engine only “nearly finished” but “ready to show”

In his reflection on what the past 25 years have brought to his most popular franchise, Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima told the Playstation blog that Kojima Productions’ highly anticipated Fox Engine will be demoed sometime soon.

“The Fox Engine is nearly finished, but the only way to be sure it works is to create a game at the same time and improve the engine with our tools as we go along,” Kojima explained. “Originally we were going to do this for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but a lot happened along the way and instead it is being made with the engine they have at Platinum Games.”

He went on to add, “[Although] the Fox Engine is not finished we are ready to show what it can do… on August 30th in Japan to be more specific.”

Fans have been speculating that the reveal of the Fox Engine will tie in to the unveiling of the new Metal Gear Solid. Seeing how Kojima likes to tease his fans, we might just get our first look at what’s next for Snake, this August.
