Sony Online Entertainment is getting gamers hyped to try out Planetside 2 with the beta soon going live and a new CGI trailer.

According to SOE President , the beta will already begin next monday, unless there are any “unforseen circumstances”.

Encouraging players to upgrade their Station Account, beta access will be given to every person who has had a subscription to the first Planetside. To make sure that people who are new to the series get into the testing phase, there will be multiple phases of the beta.

Alongside this announcement the full length trailer to “Death is No Excuse” has been released, which shows off a certain style that feels very close to what previous Halo cinematics touted. While many would argue that just because there is science-fiction involved it does not mean it is Halo, but when the overall lighting is considered, alongside the protagonist of the video being called “Chief”, you cannot help but to make this comparison.

Nonetheless from what we have seen so far Planetside 2 looks as if it is going to deliver a fresh experience.
