Update: It appears this rumour is debunked, as the image comes from a vgboxart user named SimpleWig, sadly.
With rumours about a BioShock movie floating around, it seems like we may have gotten our first tease for the actual film, possibly confirming some of the talent behind the project and the setting.
The poster reads, “No Gods or Kings. Only Man.” When looking at the BioShock series, what would be the obvious conclusion, is that the movie will actually follow the story of Rapture. As spoken of in years before, it appears as if the Director behind Pirates of the Carribean, Gore Verbinski, is still listed above the title, as the movie’s director. This comes as a surprise as in a recent interivew with EDGE, co-founder of Irrational Games, Ken Levine, claimed, “The thing with Gore [Verbinski] didn’t work out, but there’s no such thing as ‘it’s finished’ when it comes to making a movie out of something.”
Having the poster surface may be the result of Verbinski being removed from the picture, however, if this is not the case we could be seeing a BioShock movie, as early as 2013.
