It seems that the ultra-violent racer (if you can call it that) Carmegeddon is back through a Kickstarter fund. The Stainlessgames team is working on a new game with series’ lead character Max Damage returning for the new title, Carmageddon: Reincarnation.
Here’s what the official Kickstarter page says:
“…Max Damage is back! Carmageddon: Reincarnation is going to reintroduce the gaming world to the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows) equal points and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.”
The game was announced a while back but this is the first time we have heard about this Kickstarter fund, hopefully it can push forward this project.
Carmageddon put you behind the wheel and asked you to mow down as many civilians as possible. The game ripped off the film Dead Race 2000, where challengers had to gain enough points by killing pedestrians on their way to finish a race which spanned across states.
We have fond memories of Carmegeddon. I was lucky enough to have copy that didn’t change the game to zombies and wasted hours of my time mowing down people in my death-mobile and by the looks of things, this will be our only chance to get our hands on vehicular slaughter for the time being.
