If you’ve ever played Marvel vs Capcom and asked, ‘Hey what game is Felicia and Morrigan from?’ Then you’ve been missing out. Darkstalkers in one of the best old-school 2D fighters out there. Unfortunately due to the decline of beat ‘em-ups Capcom stuck to its big guns, Street Fighter and left the Darkstalkers franchise. All is not lost though as today Capcom registered a trademark under the name Darkstalkers.

This has prompted fans to speculate on the idea of a new Darkstalkers game. With the genre making a huge comeback it would make sense.

Street Fighter X Tekken’s director Yoshinori Ono would be free at this point to work on a new game too. Just last year, when answering questions at the Street Fighter X Tekken panel he put a massive picture on the screen saying,  ”Darkstalkers is not dead”. He then asked audience members that wanted the game to hold up $10 or $20. He said he’d take a photo of this and forward it to Capcom’s president.
