New details have emerged concerning Halo 4′s Spartan Ops mode, as well as a few smaller facts concerning the game as a whole.
Courtesy of Microsoft’s Expert Zone in an information pack sent to retailers, we now know that Spartan Ops will be delivered to players in instalments of 5 new missions per week over a period of 10 weeks – and that’s only Season One. Each mission will feature fancy opening cinematics and, if successful, we can presume there may be a Season 2, or more.
Season One will be entirely free to gamers and will add an additional 12 hours worth of content to the experience. Microsoft describe the feature being like “getting two campaigns with one game!”.
In addition to Spartan Ops mode, other details revealed that there will be 10 new weapons introduced to the Halo universe. Readers may perhaps remember the strange transforming Forerunner weaponry shown during the Microsoft E3 demonstration, which may give a hint about the sort of weaponry being introduced.
Alongside new armaments, players will be able to access 2 new vehicles alongside many returning classics. A new enemy class known as ‘The Prometheans” will appear in Halo 4 and “an ancient evil emerges as The Master Chief’s greatest enemy”. Sounds ominous.
Halo 4 will make the drop November 6 only on the Xbox 360.
