Another week, another game announcement exposed by paperwork. It seems nobody can keep a secret nowadays, whether it is a pesky employee CV, the ratings board or in this case, paperwork for a trademark for a new Hitman game. The trademark ‘Hitman: Profession’ was trademarked by Square Enix days after it announced the creation and expansion of Eidos’ studios based in Canada.

The new studio could easily take the reins from Hitman’s current developer. IO Interactive head, Niels Sorensen, has said that the team will need to move away from the bald assassin as they are ‘drained’ by constantly working on the one franchise.
In an interview Sorensen confessed that he would always have a soft spot for Codename 47, but that he would be working on a new IP in the near future.
