Introducing Persian Gulf Soldiers – A modern Iranian FPS

Persian Soldiers

Persian Gulf Soldiers is a modern FPS that looks could shake up the genre. The game is being developed by Amytis Games, an Iranian company.

We are used to seeing games with European and American soldiers saving the world against the evil of foreigners, but it is rare that we have an FPS whose lead characters are from the Middle East.

“The story begins with the kidnapping of an Iranian trade ship by Somali pirates,” Amytis Games’ spokesperson told Eurogamer . “Now Persian Gulf soldiers have to find the ship and arrest a Somali pirate boss called ‘Sawfish’.”

Persian Gulf Soldiers does look promising, but it also looks like it is trying to emulate the contemporary FPS games with high-speed chases, cinematic shoot outs and the obligatory helicopter crash.

Amytis Games is currently planning to release the game to a western audience on Steam.
