Phantasy Star Online 2 coming to PC, PS Vita and Smartphones

Sega have officially announced that online role-playing game, Phantasy Star Online 2, will be coming out for the PC, PS Vita and surprisingly, smartphones. The game will be free and micro-transactions will be used to make Sega money.

The PC and Vita versions of Phantasy Star Online 2  will be near identical. Both the PC and Vita have the processing power and capabilities of running the game online alongside frequent updates.

The Smartphone version of the game will be similar to its counterparts with a scaled down control system to compensate for the lack of buttons. The one major difference is that the mobile version of Phantasy Star Online 2 will not be online. Maybe they should change the name then.

Sega have promised that most of the items that are available to buy in the game will be cosmetic. They have made an effort to steer clear of game changing items that would make the game unbalanced. Players can purchase items using an in-game currency called ArcsCash.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is due to be released on in early Summer.
