It seems that no announcement is sacred in the world of video games. The latest company to (most likely) have had their bubble burst is Capcom.
First Joe Cappelletti’s CV was spotted, this claimed that he was working on Resident Evil 6, but once spotted this was removed in a hurry.
Now Wendy Mok’s voice actor’s CV was spotted stating that they had worked on Resident Evil 6 playing a “Chinese villager/zombie”. You can see the image of the online CV right here on this page.
If this is true then that means the new Resident Evil game is set in China. I for one would be happy to see China used as a setting, the unique history and environments could make for some chilling gameplay.
Speaking earlier in the year Capcom producer Masachika Kawata said that “The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level,” so a move to China fits within this shake-up for the series.
Let’s hope that Capcom get things right this time as Resident Evil 5 was a bit of a let down and the new Resident Evil Operation Racoon City looks a bit rubbish too.
