According to xbox.com’s official listing, Resident Evil 6 will feature several different multiplayer modes, supporting up to eight people at once.
The listing suggests that there will be two player offline co-op, six player online co-op and finally eight player competitive games.
There are no details on the co-op, but one would presume from the footage released that the whole game could be played through with a partner.
An alternate campaign would make sense for the larger co-op and who knows maybe we will be treated to several campaigns. This could help to solve the issue of complaints about the heavily action oriented turn the series has made in recent years.
Resident Evil 6 is set for release on November 20th, 2012 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a PC version to follow later.
