Sony taken to court for asking not to be taken to court

Sony-Revised-PSN-Terms-To-Waive-User-Rights-To-Class-Action-Suits

In September, Sony released the new Terms of Agreement for PS3 users who want to use the Playstation Network to enjoy online games. Included in the new user agreement was a statement disallowing users to take Sony to court. So what did one Californian man do? Took Sony to court; naturally.

The statement is right at the end of the User Agreement, which happens to be 21 pages long and also very difficult to read on a PS3. The man from North California, USA, has filed a law suit on the grounds that Sony are coercing users to give up their civil rights to file a lawsuit in return for the access to an online gaming network they purchased when they purchased their PS3.

We do not have any response from Sony at this time, but will be interested to see where this goes.
