Chrono Trigger is often regarded as the pinnacle of Square Enix’s time as a games developer. The SNES title is highly regarded and was made by Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy, Yuji Horii who was responsible for Dragon Quest, Nobuo Uematsu, the man behind the music in the majority of Final Fantasy games and Akira Toriyama a lead artist on the Dragon Ball series.
It seems that Square Enix may finally be ready to make a sequel to the ‘Dream Team’s’ masterpiece with rumours circulating that the game will be made using the Luminous Engine for the Playstation 4.
According to PSXExtreme Square Enix “been toying with the idea of using that fancy new tech in a new Chrono title.”
Of course this could be fake. We have had enough Final Fantasy VII remake rumours over the years that we doubt it will ever see the light of day.
