Nintendo has confirmed that the 3D features in Tekken 3D: Prime Edition will only be available in offline modes.
Satoru Iwata and Katsuhiro Harada came out to explain that due to the high frame rate of the game it made 3D complicated during multiplayer.
“What we were most particular about in terms of technology was, ‘We have to retain 60 frames per second (FPS) at all costs.’ If someone says, ‘It lags when it’s made 3D,’ then you get the impression that that’s the kind of game Tekken is, so right from the beginning that was a condition that I wasn’t willing to budge on,” Harada said.
It’s an interesting decision as both Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Street Fighter IV 3D both play with 3D features in multiplayer although they run at 30 FPS. For those who know attacks by frames this is a huge move. Give us your thoughts below.
