We have never been huge fans of Final Fantasy XIII, but apparently loads of others are as Square Enix has announced the last game in the ‘Lightning Saga’ entitled, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
The announcement was made this morning at a Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Event. The game will feature a special doomsday clock that counts down as players progress through the game. This clock will sit in the top corner of the HUD, while the decisions, and even some of the moves players use will affect the timer.
From the sound of it, combat is more action orientated. Square Enix described it as a hybrid of both of Lightning’s other outings and has said that Lightning Returns will have a ‘responsive’ control input.
