Following the release of Nintendo’s Q3 finances, President Satoru Iwata confirmed that Nintendo will launch the Wii U, in Japan, Europe and North America in time for Christmas.
Nintendo have previously been rumoured to be working towards a winter release for the new console. Last month Reggie Fils-Aime said: ”Wii U will launch some time between E3 – which is in June – at the end of the year so essentially the second half of the year.”
Several rumours are now circulating suggesting that the Wii U will be able to work as a standalone tablet, e-reader and that the console will have double the power of the Xbox 360.
With the console release not that long away you can expect to see a lot more from Nintendo’s new console, even before E3.
