It seems that other companies have started to cash in on GAME’s poor state of affairs. Today we received this email from website ShopTo.net which says:
“Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will NOT be available on the High Street from GAME next week. Capcom reccommend you pre-order Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City from ShopTo.net for the great price of £36.85.”
The post then goes on to describe some of the free DLC and finally has a short quote from Capcom which states:
“Capcom must confirm that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City scheduled for release on Friday March 23rd, will not be stocked by GAME or Gamestation either in their retail outlets or on their online stores operating in the UK and Ireland. Capcom wants to reassure its consumers who have already placed a deposit with GAME that a full refund will be available – please contact your local GAME or Gamestation shop or visit the online stores. Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is available for pre-order from ShopTo.net.”
It is interesting to note that even Capcom have come on board to help sales of their newest game. If they have gone to this length to promote a competitor to GAME then it probably spells the high street retailer’s last days. Go and spend your GAME and Gamestation points everyone and quickly.
